Technology can already store information and do maths better than humans, and now the AI revolution has come one step closer.
Two engineers have built a robot capable of solving a Rubik’s Cube in around one second.
That’s about four seconds faster than the best human efforts.
Jay Flatland and his friend Paul Rose posted a video to YouTube that shows the gadget in action, which you can check out below.

The technology behind the creation includes four USB webcams, and a Linux application.
The Linux programme interprets the information from the webcams and uses a well-known Rubik’s Cube algorithm to solve the puzzle.
Stepper motors then allow the device to spin the cube based on the information from the algorithm.
Flatland and Rose’s robot managed to solve the Rubik’s Cube in 1.019 seconds, which has been submitted for consideration as a world record.
The current record-holder is 14-year-old Lucas Etter who solved a 3×3 Rubik’s Cube in 4.904 seconds.
