Want to ditch streaming ads for a day? Pandora has the answer

You know those days when every commercial on the radio makes you want to rip out your car stereo and toss it from the nearest motorway bridge? Yeah, us too.
Well perhaps sensing that some days we’re more receptive to ads than others, US music streaming platform Pandora has come up with a novel solution; one day premium subscriptions.
For $0.99 (about 65p), Pandora users will get premium access to all of their favourite custom radio stations, without commercial interruption (via SlashGear).
The deal actually doesn’t represent that much value for money, unless you’re only planning to take Pandora up on the offer once in a blue moon.
The firm offers a monthly Pandora One tariff for $4.99 a month or $54.99 a year, so the company is clearly going for the ‘can’t be doing with ads today’ crowd as well as those hosting BBQs or soirees.

Would Spotify or Apple Music consider a daily subscription? Very unlikely, but Pandora is at least pushing another way for listeners to hand over cash for digital streaming services.
