Vodafone Wi-Fi calling coming soon to new Samsung Galaxy devices

Vodafone has announced its recently-revealed Wi-Fi calling scheme will be coming to owners of Samsung’s flagship Galaxy devices sometime this autumn.
The functionality, which enables users to make cellular calls through a Wi-Fi connection, was announced earlier in September.
So far only users of the brand new iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus can make use of the feature, but the Android roll-out is coming soon (via Recombu).
Vodafone says owners of the Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge+ will be the first Google-powered devices in line for the bonus service.
Users will need to be on pay monthly Red or Red Value Bundles or the Red+ or Business Premier tariffs in order to make use of the feature.
So, if users happen to be in rural areas where there’s a signal black hole, they can make use of the home broadband connection. Likewise, it’ll enable calls in places like the London Underground too.
Vodafone users will simply need to head into their settings and flick the Wi-Fi Calling switch rather than downloading a separate app.
