Vodafone to block scam callers from ringing its customers
Vodafone network users need no longer fear the scourge of fraudulent callers, as the company rolls out plans to block cold callers.
The program – which Vodafone begins today – is part of an effort to reduce the stress felt by its customers.
The network operator has announced that it’ll be removing cold callers – including false PPI claims, missed call scams or bogus offers and prizes – from its network. Reportedly, the cold callers will be removed at the source before they can gain access to customers.

According to Vodafone the testing phase was a total success, blocking more than 425,000 sinister calls in one day. Although the company did warn that fraudsters might continue to make it through, but that the number will be significantly reduced.
Here’s what Mark Hughes, Head of Corporate Security for Vodafone UK had to say on the campaign:
“Fraudulent calls are a scourge on society, inflicting great anxiety for victims. The protection of our customers is paramount and we have been investing heavily in our network and technology to help stamp out this practice”.
Vodafone has committed to continually evolving the technology to ensure that they stay one step ahead of criminals. What’s more, there’s even a nuisance call bureau that you can ring to complain about unwanted calls or threats.
