Is Virgin Media down? Major outages still reported across the UK

Is Virgin Media down today? Latest news on Virgin Media not working
Virgin Media is one of the UK’s biggest providers, but recent reports indicate major problems have been experienced across the UK in recent weeks. Is Virgin Media down today? Let’s take a look.
Take a look at the image below and you can probably tell that Virgin Media has had a bumpy ride lately.
In a press statement issued first to SurreyLive, Virgin Media copped to a problem “affecting the stability of broadband connections for some customers in Surrey.”
However, on June 21 the company has said that the issue has been “resolved”.
“We have resolved the issue that was affecting the stability of broadband connections for some customers in Surrey. We apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused,” a Virgin Media spokesperson told Trusted Reviews.
A quick look at popular borkage complaint platform Down Detector (which uses an automated algorithm to harness social sentiment related to service providers’ performance) apparently reveals that the issue was unlikely to be confined to Surrey. You can use Virgin Media’s official service checker to see if there’s a recognised outage in your area.
While things were looking better as of Thursday June 21, with no new spike in outage complaints, “recent reports mostly originate from” places as far and wide as London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Glasgow, Nottingham and Wolverhampton.
Commenter browny5000 bemoaned “serious connection issues for two weeks now in Leeds,” while Dario from Dublin, Ireland said: “My internet just stopped working this morning. I’m in Donnybrook, Dublin 4.”
And as recently as June 20, P.MaTTY complained that they, “Haven’t had Internet since June 12th in Glasgow,” while reports were also still coming in from Greater Manchester.
Trusted Reviews readers were having mixed luck with the service, but it seems there are still Virgin Media problems being experienced around the UK. These incidents could be isolated, of course, and it’s worth noting that more recent complaints don’t seem to indicate the sweeping Surrey outage is ongoing.
Yes, weeks of intermittent outage and dialup speeds in Edinburgh area. Was given a fix date of 13th june, then 18th, and now 30th. All the time service status page says no problems.

Not yet, but the day is young. Twice yesterday and ALMOST EVERY DAY since Christmas. Outrageously piss poor service. With the usual FOB OFF when you call.

@trustedreviews 2 months now and @virginmedia broadband disconnects daily several times. Around 30 calls and 3 engineer visits and 3 hub changes and they are not acknowledging its their issue. Worst customer and technical service department ever. I am from East London

It’s an unfortunate turn of events for Virgin Media, which was recently in the headlines for more positive reasons, after it announced it would be offering its customers the ability to add a Netflix subscription to their monthly bill – hardly a game-changer, but certainly convenient.
Or at least it would be, if people had the internet access to enjoy the popular streaming service.
Stay tuned, as we’ll update this article with all the latest news on Virgin Media being down – or not, as the case may be.
