Viewster announces new partnerships to extend film offerings

Free on-demand film and TV series service, Viewster, has announced a series of content partnerships that will bring over 20 new titles, including Film Festival favourites, to the site.

Agreements signed with KinoNation, Renderyard and Moviehouse Entertainment will mean that more independent and film festival titles will start appearing on Viewster, offered on a free to view with ad or pay-to-view ad-free basis.

“We’re proud to feature festival films that have never been shown in cinemas or home entertainment before, like the double winner of the New York International Independent Film Festival Dos,” said CEO of Viewster, Kai Henniges. “This is a significant addition to Viewster’s already impressive independent film library that is available to Viewster’s users and visitors around the globe at a simple push of a button.”

New titles will include Shine, starring Geoffrey Rush, who won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of pianist David Helfgoff and his mental breakdown. Users can also settle down to watch the KinoNation Viewster exclusive, Dos, or Shadow of the Vampire, a dual Academy-award nominated horror film starring Willem Dafoe and John Malkovich.

“Viewster is a perfect fit for KinoNation, since we’re a ‘super-aggregator’ [sic] for thousands of feature films provided by content owners all over the world,” said co-founder of KinoNation Roger Jackson.

“Our vision is that every film should be available to audiences in every country and in every language. More than any other global VoD platform, Viewster makes that vision viable – not in the future, but right now. That’s why KinoNation is delighted to be a strategic partner,” added Jackson.

Viewster titles are available free from subscriptions or monthly subscription and can be watched for free with advertising breaks. The new selection of film content will add to the Viewster library of over 5,000 titles, which is currently available in more than 120 countries.
