Valve announces pre-orders for Steam Machines and Steam Controllers

Valve has announced pre-orders are now open for Steam hardware like Alien Steam Machines, Steam Link and Steam Controller.
The first pre-orders for Steam Hardware devices start today, with the first units expected to be shipped this autumn in Europe and the US.
In Europe and Canada, you’ll be able to pre-order the Steam Link and Steam Controller from GameStop, EB Games, Micromania and GAME UK from today.
Whereas in the US, you’ll can pre-order an Alienware Steam Machine, Steam Link and/or and Steam Controller from GameStop or Steam ready for October 16, ahead of the official launch on November 10.
GameStop and Valve currently have an exclusive partnership in the US for a limited time to get consumers the kit early.
“It’s been a blast playing on our Alienware Steam Machines with our friends and family over recent months; it’s really exciting to finally share that experience with our community of gamers”, explained Frank Azor, GM of Alienware and XPS at Dell.

CyberPower is also offering its Steam Machine from today directly from its website. Other manufacturers are expected to announce availability of their Steam Machines soon.

The SteamOS platform along with the Steam Machines and Steam Controllers were announced back in September 2013, with a launch originally targeted for 2014.
Now the platform is expected to launch on November 10 alongside Valve’s own hardware and a small army of third-party Steam Machines.
