Unleash foamy carnage with Nerf’s TerraScout Drone, an RC battle turret
When I was young, garden warfare was underwhelming. Flaccid foam darts and a worn-out pumping arm aren’t exactly fond memories. But Nerf has well and truly entered the 21st Century, as evidenced by this…
Hasbro has unveiled the Nerf N-Strike Elite TerraScout RC Drone – we’re already quaking at the name alone. It’s basically a remote-controlled battle turret that you can drive around your garden or living room, striking fear into the hearts, ankles, and at-risk eyeballs of grown-ups everywhere.
The TerraScout can be armed with 18 foam darts at any one time, so you’re unlikely to run dry on ammo. The darts are also magazine-loaded, which means you don’t have to painstakingly reload one dart at a time during the heat of battle. All this foamy heft is powered by just four AA batteries – battery life is yet to be specified.
Perhaps the coolest feature of the TerraScout is the built-in camera. Yes, the tank lets you record 720p HD footage straight to an SD card, so you can capture your household carnage and upload it to the web for posterity.
All this will set you back $200 (that’s around £139). Unfortuantely, UK pricing is yet to be announced.
