Ultimate Ears UE Roll is the latest beach-ready Bluetooth speaker

Summer is here; the festival season is upon us, and so the latest wave of ruggedized Bluetooth speakers are starting to surface.
The latest addition to the portable audio market is the Ultimate Ears UE Roll, a compact, £99 round speaker that offers a pleasing blend of style and substance.
Boasting IP67 certification – which means its dust resistant and waterproof to 1.5 metres for up to 30 minutes – the UE Roll will survive your summer trips to a muddy campsite, days in the park or a weekend at the beach.
Thanks to the speaker’s circular design, the 340g unit offers 360-degree audio, with a marine-grade bungee cord strap meaning the speaker can easy be attached to your bag, bike or arm.
“Music is designed for sharing, connecting and enjoying,” said Ultimate Ears’ general manager, Rory Dooley. “It transforms moments into something special, and we designed UE Roll to be part of those moments.
With a 65-foot wireless range and 9-hour battery life on the a single charge, the Bluetooth equipped UE Roll also plays host to a 3.5mm audio input for connected playback.
As well as making your phone or iPod’s music a little more group-friendly, the UE Roll can be synced to an iOS and Android companion app to enable more personalised features.
The app enables music-based alarm functionality, remote power control, EQ tweaking and the ability to pair the device with additional UE speakers, such as the UE Boom.
