Uh-Oh! Stolen Ashley Madison customer data posted online

Hackers who captured customer data from controversial extra-marital dating site Ashley Madison have lived up to their vow to post the information online if the site was not taken down.
In a move that’s sure to send shivers down the spines of the site’s purported 40 million members, a whopping 9.7GB of data was posted to the Tor browser on Tuesday evening.
In the data dump, posted with the caption “Time’s Up!”, the hackers explained that the decision to post the data is a direct result of the refusal of the site’s owners – Avid Life Media – to pull the site.
In a message accompanying the data, the group wrote: “Avid Life Media has failed to take down Ashley Madison and Established Men.
“We have explained the fraud, deceit and stupidity of ALM and their members. Now everyone gets to see their data.”

Now the hackers are advising those exposed by the leak to take legal action against the site’s owners, learn lessons and move on with life.
For some of those Ashley Madison users, the first two suggestions may prove easier than the last.
Things are about to get (even more) interesting.
