Ubisoft is excited about the ‘fantastic’ Nintendo NX – can you tell?

While most notable third-party developers ditched Nintendo during the Wii U era, Ubisoft stuck around longer than most and even offered a platform exclusive game with ZombiU.
Nintendo fans can look forward to more support from the French publisher when it comes to the new NX console, which Ubisoft is already hailing as ‘fantastic.’
During a Ubisoft presentation (via Gamespot), CEO Yves Guillemot, says the NX offers a new approach that remains true to Nintendo’s knack of debuting unique experiences.
He said: “The new Nintendo [console] is a fantastic machine. It’s really a new approach, it’s really Nintendo, [which is] coming with something new again. We love it.”
OPINION: Nintendo NX leaks offer more questions than answers
The NX is rumoured to be a console offering both home console and portable experiences and Ubisoft is fully on board with such ‘disruptions’ of the traditional order.
“We always take disruptions on the positive side. We think each time that it’s an opportunity for our creators to take more risks.
“What we see is, players are more open when new hardware is coming. So we have the chance to come with something we have never done before, because we know that if we are the first there, people will try our game and maybe we’ll be able to get into that new genre.
“As our people wanted to do a game like ZombiU, they were happy they could just use the Wii U to do it.”
Nintendo is scheduled to fully reveal the NX console in the first quarter of 2017.
