Popular radio app TuneIn has added a new Premium tier, bringing users access to a host of live sports, audiobooks and the holy grail of ad-free commercial stations for a reasonable monthly fee.
The new £5.99 Premium Tier comes with play-by-play coverage of all Major League Baseball games, coverage from the Premier League via TalkSport and even Bundesliga games.
As well as the sporting goodness, Premium subscribers will receive ad-free access to 600 commercial stations, 40,000 audiobooks and 16 language learning stations.
The service is available in the UK now, while memberships are also available in the United States ($7.99) and Canada. Additional countries will receive access in due course.
The Premier League coverage is a boon for football fans in the US and Canada who’ve previously been unable to access the radio coverage provided by TalkSport to UK listeners.
The Bundesliga coverage will be available in English and German, which is handy for those who spreche kein Deutsch.

In terms of audiobooks, well there’s a metric butt-load of them. 40,000 from major publishers like Penguin, Random House, HarperCollins and Scholastic.
Of course the free tier remains in place with 100,000 radio stations and 5.7 million podcasts available without charge.
