#TrustedReviewsAwards: Microsoft pips Dell and Apple to computing award

The Microsoft Surface 3 has been crowned the Computing Product of the Year at the 2015 TrustedReviews Awards.

A versatile tablet/laptop hybrid with an impressive battery life, the Surface 3 edged out the Dell XPS 13 and the Macbook Pro 2015 to claim this year’s computing accolade.

Microsoft’s device received praise for its responsive 10.8-inch screen and for managing to offer a paired-down version of the larger Surface Pro 3 without compromising on quality.

“This was a very close category with Dell and Apple offering some great devices,” said TrustedReviews Editor Evan Kypreos.

“But Microsoft managed to offer a hybrid device that featured all the best parts of both a laptop and a tablet, and at an affordable price.”

Commenting on the key features which swung it for Microsoft he said: “The Surface 3 is so versatile, runs the full version of Windows, and the kickstand means you can use it comfortably in any situation.”

“With the Surface 3, Microsoft managed to fill a gap between tablets and laptops by offering a product that combined the best elements of both, and it was this that earned the title of Computing Product of the Year.”
