Struggling to pick the perfect Apple Watch combo? Help is at hand

There are hundreds of potential combinations for Apple Watch cases and bands and thanks to the launch of new nylon straps, the number rose significantly this week.

Thankfully, and not before time, Apple has made it easier to flip through the various combos before you splash out at the Apple Store website.

The new tool entrusts potential buyers to swipe through the case sizes and colours before dragging that case along the various band options.

If it tickles your fancy, you can also peruse how your desired combo will look once the various watch parts are assembled. Each of your choices are listed at the bottom of the page.

The only surprise is there’s not a link to instantly buy it once you’ve made the choice. As thus you’ll need to write down the options and then go through the process again when buying.

The functionality had been available from other websites built to do the same job, so it’s surprising Apple hasn’t done this before now.

The firm seems to be stepping up its efforts to shift the smartwatch with the new bands and the announced price cut during Monday’s spring forward event.

The Apple Watch Sport is now available from just $299/£259, a rare price cut for a current-generation Apple device.

The chop has fueled speculation that the firm’s first wearable may not be selling as well as hoped. It could also be a sign the company is seeking to plough through the remaining inventory before rolling out a second-gen model.
