TomTom Updates Flagship Sat Nav

Cream always rises to the top - eventually.

Back in June TomTom announced its new GO range with the launch of the 720 and 520. It has taken some time for the flagship to follow them.

The ‘GO 920 T’ however duly made its first appearance today with TomTom keen to stress it will feature its ‘most continuous’ tracking to date thanks to the company’s ‘Enhanced Positioning Technology’. It will also have the most detailed maps TomTom has ever produced with European and USA & Canada mapping requiring a full 4GB of internal storage.

Other software delights include Map Share and Help Me features which are available on the rest of the new GO line.

As for the hardware, you’ll get the same large 4.3in widescreen touch screen display but with a nice 480 x 272 native resolution, a 400MHz CPU, inbuilt RDS-TMC traffic receiver, FM transmitter and Bluetooth. Additional storage space can be added via an SD expansion slot while the unit can be controlled remotely and the battery life is good for up to five hours of continuous usage.

At 118 x 83 x 24mm, the GO 920 T is also thinner and lighter than its previous top of the liners and with a Q4 arrival – allowing for congestion and taking the ”correct” exit – there isn’t long to wait.
