Today’s iPhone 7 leak reveals sleek black handset

You didn’t think the weekend would come and go without an iPhone 7 leak did you? Us neither. And this one seemingly gives us a pretty good look at the oft-rumoured new Space Black finish.

Yes, new, apparently leaked, shots appear to show a very sleek-looking version of the upcoming handset, complete with black finish.

We’ve heard a lot about a new colour option in recent months, with some reports suggesting a deep blue hue will debut on Apple’s next smartphone.

But more recently, rumours of a Space Black finish have begun to emerge, suggesting Apple will be introducing the new colour option as a replacement for Space Grey.

These new images, which come via MyDrivers, also reveal a dual camera setup, something which has long been rumoured to be a new feature on the iPhone 7.

To be more precise, some rumours have suggested the new phone will come in three versions – standard, Plus, and Pro – and that the Pro version will feature the dual lenses.

Other reports, including a fairly assured contribution from online tipster Evan Blass, have maintained there will only be a standard and Plus version of the new iPhone – the latter of which will come with the dual rear camera.

Whatever the reality is, today’s images seem to show either the Pro or Plus version, as the handset in the photos appears to be of the 5.5-inch variety.

Also of note is the missing headphone jack, which has also been one of the more persistent rumours surrounding the iPhone 7.

Interestingly, the handset in the shots also seems to sport a smart connector, as indicated by the three POGO pins on the rear of the phone.

The iPad Pro comes with the smart connector which enables users to attach a smart keyboard. As such, it’s unclear what the connector would be used for on the iPhone 7, but as with all these images and reports, there’s simply no way to prove they are legitimate – so the connection could be absent once the phone actually launches.

Recent reports speculate that Apple is preparing to launch the phone on September 7, but we’ll have to wait and see for now as the company is remaining typically tight-lipped on the subject.
