This is Reddit, circa 3016 – and it’s awesome

None of us can truly predict the future. Well, except this guy, maybe…
A Reddit moderator has lifted the lid on a Reddit clone that’s set in the year 3016.
It’s (unsurprisingly) called Reddit3016, and marks mod Blair Erickson’s two-year effort to reimagine the Reddit of the future.
The painstakingly crafted spin-off has working links, all of which redirect to content also produced by Erickson.
So how accurate des Erickson’s vision of the future appear to be? Nearly spot on, we’d say.
The top post is titled “Ancient astronaut statue unveiled on Mars Capital Rotunda”, linking to a spacesuit-wearing Matt Damon – a blatant Martian reference.
Famous astronaut Matt Damon…?
There’s also a post about manufacturing and safety issues with new hoverboards. What’s new, eh? LINK
And in 3016, Netflix has rebranded to Holoflix, and has acquired rights to The Bible.

Unfortunately, the bad news is that it seems gamers are still waiting for the arrival of Half Life 3. A post to /r/atheism titled ‘Valvetopians still praying for arrival of mythological entity” has racked up 7309 upvotes as a result.
We won’t list all the jokes, so you’ll just have to head on over to Reddit3016 and check the site out for yourself.
Interestingly, Erickson claims Reddit has removed all links to his site from the major subreddits.
In a post, Erickson blames “authoritarian censorship”, alleging that “behind-the-scenes Reddit censors” deleted the post from every subreddit it was shared in.
Here’s an excerpt from his post:
