The Witcher 3 New Game Plus mode rolling out now

CD Projekt Red has started rolling out fresh The Witcher 3 DLC, which includes the New Game Plus mode.

This is the final piece of free DLC for the game, and will include extras beyond the New Game Plus mode – but this remains its defining feature.

Xbox One gamers are alone in having access to the update at the time of writing, with the patch weighing in at 9.51MB. It should arrive on other platforms shortly.

New Game Plus mode allows hardcore players to ramp up the difficulty level of the game on the second play-through – a common feature for RPG games such as The Witcher 3.

It does come with a few caveats, though. For example, if you’ve reached level 30 or higher on the second time through the game, your level will remain the same.

Anyone below this will automatically be bumped up to level 30 for the New Game Plus mode.

You’ll also receive a Clearing Potion at the start of the game, allowing you to reset your previously selected skills for the second run-through.

Experience, money, items and alchemy recipes will all be carried over, but your quest items, books, letter, Gwent cards, usable items and trophies will be left behind.

You’ll be able to choose any level of difficulty when starting New Game Plus mode, allowing you to obtain the Death March achievement/trophy.

Overall, though, enemies will be stronger – so beware. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
