Star Wars VR for Google Cardboard hits iOS, Android
The hotly anticipated Star Wars VR experience for Google Cardboard headsets can now be downloaded for iOS and Android devices.
The experience is part of the existing Star Wars app, which has been updated today for those who have Google’s cheap cardboard headsets.
Those downloading the free update will be able to see the world from the viewpoint of a ‘Resistance Secret Agent’ on the planet of Jakku. The desert land is also featured within the new DLC for Star Wars: Battlefront, released earlier this week.

Jakku Spy was created by Industrial Light & Magic and Skywalker Sound’s immersive entertainment laboratory with a little assistance from Google and Disney.
All you Google Cardboard owners feel free to dive in, while we lament leaving ours at home.

As an added bonus, the app also introduces an AR character that comes to life whenever you use the app to scan the Star Wars: The Force Awakens poster. You won’t need a Cardboard for that.
If you’re in the US and you’re a Verizon customer, you can hop along to select retailers to grab a Star Wars-themed Cardboard, such as the one pictured above.
