The Sims 4 to be unveiled on August 21

Much loved gaming franchise The Sims is to gain a new iteration, with The Sims 4 formally pegged for further unveilings later this summer.

The iconic lifestyle simulator which lets you create and dictate the goings on of your own little world, The Sims has been one of the most popular gaming franchises for over a decade and has spawned a number of spinoff expansion titles. Now The Sims 4 is known to be in the works with EA confirming it will share more details on the game on August 21.

Making the announcement via the official Sims 3 Twitter feed, EA and developer Maxis stated: “Big Announcement! #TheSims4 will be revealed in Gamescom in Germany! The game will take the @EA stage to show off the game. #TheSimsLB”

With EA’s E3 2013 press conference last week focusing on next-generation titles bound for the Xbox One and PS4, the publisher has revealed that it will formally discuss and showcase The Sims 4 during the Cologne based Gamescom later this year. Gamescom will run between August 21 and 25.

First discussed back in May EA has keep details on The Sims 4 relatively sparse to date. The company previously stated: “The Sims 4 encourages players to personalize their world with new and intuitive tools while offering them the ability to effortlessly share their creativity with friends and fans.”
