The Queen is on the hunt for a social wizard to work magic on her online accounts.
A job opening for a Head of Digital Engagement has been posted to the Royal Household website.
The successful application will have to make sure the Queen’s Twitter and Facebook pages “consistently spark interest”, and will earn a hefty £50,000 salary in turn.
“The role of Royal Communications is to engage a worldwide audience with the public role and work of The Royal Family,” reads the job description.
It continues: “Joining this fast paced and dynamic team, your challenge will be to lead on and develop our digital communications strategy, and ensure that we make effective use of a range of digital platforms to support these aims.”
You could work at Buckingham Palace, posting dank memes all day long
According to the posting, the Head of DE will cover royal events like state visits and award ceremonies; probably not much opportunity for posting cat memes, we’d wager.

Buckingham Palace says you’ll need experience managing and editing high-profile websites and social media if you’re hoping to bag the role.
“You’ll be knowledgeable when it comes to best practice in all matters regarding digital communication,” the posting explains. “Innovative and with creative flair, you’ll have exemplary and compelling writing and editorial skills.”
Perks include a 15% employer contribution pension scheme, 33 days annual leave, free lunch, and being able to tell your mates that the Queen is your boss.
