The Q950T is Samsung’s next-gen intelligent 8K QLED TV for 2020

First revealed at CES 2020, Samsung has let loose more details about the Q950T and its expanded 2020 8K TV range at its European Forum event in Malta

Samsung’s flagship model for 2020 is the Q950T QLED 8K TV, which you’ve likely read and heard much about since its unveiling at CES. It’ll be available in Europe in 65, 75 and 85-inch versions, and features Samsung’s striking bezel-less frame that offers the viewer a picture that stretches from one edge of the screen to the other.

Dubbed the Infinity Screen, it delivers a 99% screen to body ratio, so you can see more of what’s happening on the screen.

Measuring at 15mm for the screen, the Q950T is not quite OLED thin, but it is nevertheless a hugely impressive level of design for a LED-based screen. The panel is also home to six built-in speakers which use Samsung’s Object Tracking Sound to produce a three-dimensional audio performance.

With this set, Samsung claims the Q950T can cover 100% of the DCI-P3 colour space, with a brightness of 4000 nits to give that colour range lots of punch and volume. HDR10+ is supported once again, while anyone with interest in seeing Dolby Vision on a Samsung TV will have to put that wish away for another year.

The Quantum Dot AI  processor is said to upscale any source to “pristine 8K resolution£. The smart Tizen interface also returns, with a number of apps supported, including Disney Plus, when it launches in the UK later this year.

The QLED 8K range is expanding for 2020. The Q900T and Q800T are available in 55 to 98-inch inches, as the South Korean company looks to offer as many sizes to fit whatever living room space.

Prices and availability for the new QLED 8K TV range is still TBC, but we’ll be updating our range guide as soon as we get confirmation.
