The Pronto mobile charger promises to juice up in just five minutes
You’re about to head out, and you want to take your portable mobile charger with you, but the battery is low. Does that mean you’ll have to wait an age for it to power up? Not with this device.
It’s called the Pronto, and as the name suggests, its selling point is speed. According to the makers, it takes just five minutes to store enough power to charge an iPhone 5.
Actually charging your phone, however, will take a little longer than that.
Admittedly that’s based on charging an iPhone 5, rather than a newer handset. And we haven’t verified the claims, so we’re going on what the company behind it says. But if true, that’s astonishingly quick.
That’s the Pronto 12, which holds enough power to juice up the iPhone 5 nine times (though you’ll have to leave it plugged in for an hour to achieve this).
It’s not all about old iPhones either. Both models have USB ports, so you can power up other devices like Android mobiles and tablets. The Pronto 12 has two of these ports, plus a 12V output, so you can charge larger devices like laptops and DSLR cameras using a car adapter.
The Pronto has soared past its $50,000 funding goal, raising $126,048 at time of writing. And there are still 28 days to go. For more, check out the Kickstarter page.
