The next Roku might have yet another Apple TV-beating feature

Despite stiff challenges from Amazon and Apple, Roku set-top boxes are maintaining their position at the top of the tree.
Reports on Monday have suggested the next Roku might kick on further with a 4K box that includes compatibility with the en vogue HDR viewing standard by the end of the year.
The Zatsnotfunny.com website have obtained a leak for the Roku Ultra which will replace the current Roku 4 in the line-up. It’ll also have a USB port so users can play their own files, according to the report.

Along with the new boxes, Roku is also changing the naming conventions, the report says.
The report states these updates may be announced as soon as September 7, which with Apple and Sony launches confirmed is already shaping up as one of the biggest days of the year in tech.
