The dream of cross-platform gaming is so close we can taste it
Microsoft has announced the forthcoming availability of Xbox ‘Play Anywhere’ games, which will be playable on both Xbox One and a Windows 10 PC.
Gears of War 3, Forza Horizon 3 and ReCore can now be pre-ordered from the Microsoft Store ahead of a staggered release over the next month or so.
ReCore will be the first to arrive on September 13, while Forza Horizon 3 will be released two weeks later on September 27. Finally, Gears of War 4 arrives on October 11 (h/t Engadget).

The arrival of the Play Anywhere platform is notable as it allows users to continue their progress on either device, be it the high-end gaming laptop or the Xbox One home console.
Microsoft has vowed that every Microsoft Studios game from here on out will be Play Anywhere compatible.
Among the games on deck are: Halo Wars 2, Sea of Thieves, Scalebound, Killer Instinct Season 3, State of Decay 2, Ark: Survival Evolved, Crackdown 3, Cupped and We Happy Few.
