The Core is a portable wireless streaming system

A new wireless speaker system has already shattered its funding target on
Indiegogo
.
The Core is small enough to fit in your hand, yet promises to sound “like two widely separated full size hi-fi speakers with smooth highs, crystal clear midrange and bone shaking bass”.
It was aiming for $48,000, and has already raised a whopping $227,277. And with 27 days still to go, we can expect that total to increase significantly.
So what can The Core do? It can play tunes through Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, or you can touch to pair with NFC. It can sync with up to eight other units to make a multi-room system, so you can play different music in each room if you like. It’s small enough to fit in your hand, so you can take it with you, and has a 12-hour battery to boot.
Controlling it is a breeze too, thanks to its gesture controls.
It works as a speakerphone, so if someone calls while you’re streaming songs from your phone, you can take the call there and then. And it has a range of inputs like optical, aux, and USB if you want to plug in.
You can also hook it up to your Apple TV or Roku set-top box, and use it as an additional speaker for your TV.
The first units are expected to ship in December – so just in time for Christmas – with the rest of the units going on sale in March next year.
