The best Windows 10 laptop just got even better – here’s why

Dell impressed us so much with its XPS 13 laptop when we first reviewed it that we bestowed upon it the coveted title of Best Laptop at last year’s TrustedReviews Awards.

Since then there’s been a decent refresh to keep the laptop up to date, and now Dell is preparing to release the latest version of the XPS 13 – and it looks like it’s going to be a good’un.

First up, the laptop will be getting Intel’s latest 7th generation Kaby Lake processors, which should ensure the device can compete with other laptops that have appeared in recent months.

You’ll have a choice between Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 configurations, with the option to add 4GB, 8GB, or 16GB of RAM and 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of flash storage.

There’s also Intel’s HD Graphics 650 handling the visuals and the Killer 1535 AC hardware should bring improved Wi-Fi to the range.

What’s more, the company has introduced a new Rose Gold colour option, which is fast becoming a standard offering on devices such as this.

The laptop will also come with the same display options as previous iterations, with a choice between a Quad HD+ touchscreen or Full HD display.

Dell claims the Full HD offering will allow the laptop to hit 22 hours of battery life, while the QHD+ version is apparently capable of lasting for 13 hours.

That’s thanks to a new larger 60WHr battery which should ensure improved performance, even if it’s not quite up to Dell’s claims.

The refreshed XPS 13 is available in the UK today at £1,329.
