Tesla CEO Elon Musk has revealed plans to announce a new solar roof, the first fruit of the company’s pending SolarCity purchase.
Musk says he’s aiming for an October 28 unveiling of an entire solar energy-harnessing roof, that appears to go way beyond the traditional panels.
The new roof technology will also integrate with the Tesla Powerwall 2.0 battery and Tesla car charger.

Tesla agreed a $2.78bn deal for SolarCity back in July, but the merger is yet to be rubber-stamped.
The deal is being challenged by Tesla shareholders, but that hasn’t stopped both parties pushing ahead with conjoined products.
