Ahead of its quarterly earnings call, electric car pioneer Tesla has announced plans to reveal its long-awaited Model 3 sedan on March 31.
While we’ve known of the March 2016 timeframe for months, the company has how confirmed the date of the great unveiling.
Production is still on track to begin in 2017 with the first shipments by the end of the year.
In a release prior to the earnings call (via TechCrunch), the company wrote: “
The Model 3 will be the first vehicle from the company to enter the realms of affordability for mainstream drivers.
The list price will be around $35,000, but with tax incentives drivers will pay as little as $25,000 for the Model 3.

Recent reports have suggested the Model 3 will feature the same iPad-like centre console and boast the cabin size of a BMW 3 series.
Speculation has also suggested Musk’s company will look to recoup costs charging drivers for supercharging, which has been free for Models S and X.
A report from Electrek also claimed the company is planning to launch a second car, built on the same platform, which may be Model Y crossover model, previously hinted at by Musk.
