Tegra 3 Tablets Coming From HTC, Lenovo And Acer

Last week we saw the official launch of the Asus Transformer
, as well as the official launch of the quad-core Tegra 3 chip on which it
is based.

And of course, Asus was never going to be alone in bringing
quad-core power to its tablets, and so we have begun to get details of
some new tablets on the horizon from some of the biggest names in the business.

First up is Lenovo, and leaked images of a 10.1 tablet have
made their way into the hands of Engadget along with some internal specs. The
tablet will be powered by Nvidia’s new chip, will come with a huge 2GB of
1.6GHz DDR3 RAM as well as that rarest of items on tablets these days, a full-sized USB

The unnamed tablet will come with a fingerprint scanner
which may double as an optical joystick and will feature a “Special Fusion-Skin
Body.” It will be running Android Ice Cream Sandwich by the time it arrives, which
is rumoured to be before the end of the year.

Next up is HTC, who is getting ready to announce a new Tegra
3 tablet at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona
next year, alongside two new handsets. This would be similar to this year when
HTC unveiled the Flyer (below) alongside the ChaCha, Salsa, Desire S, Wildfire S and Incredible

Not much else is known about the device except that the
tablet will of course run Android and HTC fans will be hoping it will be the
most up to date version, which will be 4.0 by the time MWC rolls around next
year, rather than the out-dated version seen on the Flyer this year.

Finally, it’s Acer‘s turn and although the company hasn’t officially confirmed the existence
of the A510/A511, the new tablets have been outted by a pair of User Agent Profile
specifications posted on its official site.

The A510 will be the update to the Acer A500 and will once
again be powered by the Tegra 3 chip and run Android Ice Cream Sandwich. It
will have a 1280×800 resolution 10.1in screen but beyond that we’re going to
have to wait for more information, possibly until CES in January.
