TalkTalk unlimited SIM costs just £12, with several catches

In a world of rapidly growing data consumption, TalkTalk is hoping to woo mobile customers with an unlimited everything SIM card.

The UK-based mobile giant is peddling a SIM that proffers limitless data, minutes, and texts.

What’s more, this deal will set you back just £12 per month, which is a fair price considering the huge amount of data on offer.

It’s also offered on a 30-day rolling contract, which means you’re not tied down to the SIM for any longer than a month.

We’re revolutionising mobile with our new unlimited SIM,” said Tristia Harrison, TalkTalk’s MD for Consumer. “We’ve successfully driven down the average cost of broadband and TV packages in Britain, giving millions of families more for their money. Now we’re doing the same for mobile.”

Harrison added: “For those simply after the best price, this is an unbeatable deal.”

It all sounds brilliant, but there are a few catches that you’ll want to bear in mind first.

For starters, you’ll only be able to bag this deal until June 30, after which the SIM offer expires.

It’s also important to note that while anyone can access the deal, you’ll need to sign up to TalkTalk broadband first.

Moreover, if you cancel this subscription, you then have to start paying £24 per month for the SIM. Oh, and the limits reduce to 2,000 call minutes and 2GB of data. Hmm.

Then there’s the fact that you can’t actually tether your phone; that puts a spanner in the works of anyone who was hoping to have cheap and easy mobile internet on a peripheral laptop and tablet.

It’s still a good deal for someone looking for a cheap, simple SIM card with unlimited data, but bear in mind the caveats before shelling out on this offer.
