T-Mobile Confirms Android Phone Launch Date

September the...

So at last we can tell you when you’ll be able to nab the first Google phone…

T-Mobile has finally come clean and admitted a glitzy launch will take place in New York on 23 September to mark the formal unveiling of the World’s first Android handset. Less helpfully however it still refuses to name the HTC built/T-Mobile branded device but ‘Dream’ and ‘G1’ have been the hot favourites for some time now.

T-Mobile, Google and “other company executives” plus probably quite the range of (s)soul sucking(/s) celebs will be out in force for the event with an eminently affordable asking price and large quantities of stock expected to be the main talking points. Word on an international release however would be nice too as the Yanks are clearly getting it first.

Of course as far as the handset itself goes the cat has already escaped the bag, torn numerous additional holes in it as part of a revenge attack and thrown the whole stinking thing into the river what with snap shots leaked on the 2nd and the whole September launch predicted since mid August.

Still, let’s hope we finally see the birth of a second decent touchscreen UI – we’re getting rather sick of having a choice of one…
