T-Mobile and HP Combine Forces over iPaq 6340

T-Mobile announce that it will be offering a special combined tariff for the HP iPaq 6340 - the first PDA to offer GPRS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in one package.

T-Mobile has announced that it is now offering the HP ipaq h6340 with an exclusive connecion pack. T-Mobile isn’t normally the first out of the blocks with data related services so it’s good to see it taking the initiative with a device such as the h6340.

The iPaq 6340 is the world’s first PDA to combine, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GSM/GPRS, in one package. Aimed at the true road warrior, the h6340 gives the users access to Internet access and the ability to handle full email attachments, along with voice and SMS capability, wherever they need it.

T-Mobile claims that it offers the widest GPRS roaming footprint among UK operators, thanks to agreements in almost 70 countries worldwide, including the United-States. Additionally, T-Mobile’s Wi-Fi service, is now available at over 600 locations in the UK and over 10,500 world-wide.

The tariff bundles GPRS, Wi-Fi, voice and SMS in a single tariff. The tailored pre-pay ‘connectivity pack’ for the iPAQ includes:

• 2 hours of Wi-Fi access

• 30 days unlimited GPRS access

• £5 of voice and text messaging allowance, along with

• SIM card, starter guide and customer support

Brian McBride, T-Mobile UK’s Managing Director says, “By combining the expertise of T-Mobile and HP we have created a simple, yet powerful, all-in-one solution for people to stay connected while on the move. Together with our unique Wi-Fi service, we are starting to put the internet in your pocket and enable you to do more, whenever and wherever.”

The package is sold alongside the iPAQ h6340 in HP’s standard sales channel, at just £9.99. The HP iPAQ h6340 has now begun shipping in limited quantity and is available for an SRP or £479.
