Super-Slim ViewSonic VX2460h-LED Budget Monitor Announced

ViewSonic’s latest monitor is affordable and very slim. The 24in ViewSonic VX2460h-LED screen is just 6.8mm thick, making it easier to jam into cramped bedrooms and offices.

The latest trend in monitors is to offer IPS screen technology at a bargain price, but ViewSonic is doing something a little different with the VX2460h-LED. It might just be the thinnest budget monitor money can buy. It’s not bad-looking either, arrayed in black and silver and sporting serious, angular lines.

Getting a little closer to the technical nuts and bolts, the ViewSonic VX2460h-LED uses a 23.6in TN panel of 1080p resolution. It might not quite offer the image quality and colour reproduction of a PVA or IPS screen, but the claimed 2ms response time (grey-to-grey) is quick enough to stop blur from hurting gamers’ performance. It offers a somewhat-optimistic 40,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and has a low-power ECO mode that claims to offer 40 per cent energy saving over the 24in norm. A neat connectivity feature is the VX2460h-LED’s dual HDMI ports. This will let you attach two sources to the monitor for easy switching – a PC and games console, for instance.

The ViewSonic VX2460h-LED retails for £159 and will be available from mid-May.
