Netflix scoops Streaming Service of the Year at Trusted Reviews Awards 2017
Netflix has beaten rivals to Trusted Reviews Awards glory, securing the Streaming Service of the Year award.
This evening, the streaming giant was awarded the top streaming service gong at our annual awards ceremony in east London.
A deserving winner, Netflix has showcased incredible talent at creating and delivering high-quality original content to an ever-growing mega-audience.
Earlier this year, Netflix revealed that it had a subscriber base of more than 100 million people globally, with more than 52 million of those users coming from outside of its US home turf.
A big part of that success is down to the popularity of key Netflix franchises. Most notable among these is Stranger Things, which debuted its second season online just last month.
But other shows such as Orange is the New Black continue to pull in steady viewers, giving Netflix the edge over its competition.

Netflix’s growth is particularly impressive given that the company hiked its prices earlier this year. The company’s success is also prompting Amazon to take a hard look at its own Amazon Video service, with the retailer-turned-streamer reportedly working on a more genre-focused approach – including a possible Lord of the Rings TV adaptation.
So what else should we expect from Netflix going forward? Well, the possibility of Stranger Things season 3 in virtual reality certainly has us all excited…
