Quick someone pinch me, I must be dreaming.
I have a request to make of everyone reading this: please cross your fingers and pray to any and all gods of your choice that Lucasarts, gets the lightsaber implementation for The Force Unleased right on the Wii because I don’t think I could cope if they mess it up. The latest news from the team behind the upcoming game is that Wii version is going to fulfil the dreams of every Star Wars fan on the planet and let you wield a saber as Lucas intended. Well almost.
For those not aware, allow me to coax you out of the hyperspace vortex you must have been stuck in for the last few months and explain what The Force Unleashed is about. The basic premise is that you play Darth Vader’s secret apprentice during events set between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back – by far the best film of the six.
As well as letting you wave the Wiimote around like some kind of crazed Gungan, force powers will also be activated via the motion sensing functionality of the Wii controller, gestures for push and pull can be guessed, but we’re interested in seeing what other powers are in and how they’re used.
The bad news, my young padawans, is that the game isn’t out until Q2 next year, however, that should give you plenty of time to salivate over the potential the game offers. Of course you’ll be able to play on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 as well but if the developers pull this off right, I will personally hunt down and force strangle anyone who doesn’t buy a Wii for this game (unless they own one of course).
