Star Wars Battlefront gameplay details leaked ahead of event
Star Wars Battlefront gameplay details have leaked ahead of the official reveal at the Star Wars Celebration event.
The Associated Press has published a news story outlining some key gameplay details for Star Wars Battlefront ahead of the official DICE event.
According to the story, Battlefront will feature multiplayer battles for up to 40 gamers playing as the Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire forces.
There will apparently be a demonstration of this at tonight’s event, where you’ll see the jetpack-equipped rebels float across Endor while Stormtroopers come in on foot with walkers, speeders and a massive AT-AT.
Some of the other locations to be shown off during the gameplay demo include Hoth, Tatooine and Sullust.

Anyone who is a particular sharp shooter will apparently be rewarded with the ability to play as iconic characters like Boba Fett and Darth Vader.
“You can storm in as the Dark Lord himself,” said Niklas Fegraeus, Battlefront Design Director. “You can wield a lightsaber. You can Force choke the rebel scum, which is fun. Basically, you are the boss of the battle. This means that you, as Vader, can lead your team to victory – if you play well.”
You’ll also be able to battle in the skies too it seems, taking control of TIE Fighters, X-wings adn the Millenium Falcon, although it’s not clear as yet how you’ll be able to switch between air and ground battles.
“We wanted it to feel authentic to this universe,” said “Battlefront” executive producer Patrick Bach. “You can get into these vehicles, from speeder bikes to X-wings, TIE fighters, AT-STs, AT-ATs. There’s a wide range of vehicles that we wanted to realize. The difficulty with a game is that they need to be balanced with the troops on the ground.”
Apparently there will be a free DLC level called Battle of Jakku that will launch in early December, based on the upcoming film Star Wars Episode VII – The Force Awakens.
Star Wars Battlefront release date has been set as November 17 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
