Two American fugitives have been arrested on felony charges after they were tracked by police through a Spotify account.
The arrests ended a seven-month search for Peter Barr and Brittany Nunn of Colorado, who are alleged to have abducted two children together.
Authorities managed to track down the pair when the IP address of the alleged abductors’ Spotify account was traced to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico.
The ploy was put into action by tech-savvy Drew Weber, an investigator at the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.

It continues: “He found it was being used from an IP address in Mexico. He later pulled search records from Netflix and Nunn’s other accounts and eventually tracked a package that Nunn had ordered to be shipped to Cabo San Lucas.”

Nunn had originally lost custody of her children – aged four and six – to their fathers, but didn’t turn up to an exchange to hand over the children.
Both Nunn and Barr were on the run since, but will now face custody violation charges in Larimer County as a result of their Spotify slip-up.
The children have now been reunited with their fathers.
