Sponsored: 5 great features you didn’t know the LG G4 has

We’ve been using the LG G4 for a while now, and it’s definitely one of the best phones of the year. Whether it’s the camera, display, software or some of the nifty additions like gesture control, it’s the all-round package.

But, there plenty of great features you probably didn’t know about. Here are five of the best.

Quick Charge

Even though we’ve been mightily impressed with the 3,000 mAh battery on the LG G4, it can easily last a day and of course it’s replaceable so you can swap in a spare, the addition of QuickCharge tech just makes everything that little bit better. In just 30-minutes you can go from a completely dead device to one boasting 60% battery, when using the Quick Charger (sold separately). That’s pretty impressive. This is great for those times when you’re in a rush, and just need a bit more juice to get you through.

Quantum Screen

We’ve detailed just how fantastic the display on the LG G4 is on plenty of other occasions, but we can’t round up five of the devices greatest features without mentioning it again. While the Quad-HD panel is incredibly crisp and detailed, it’s really the IPS tech that pushes it to the next level.

When compared to the LG G3, you get 25% more brightness, an increased contrast of 50% and colour accuracy is upped by 56%. Those figures all combine to create possibly the best mobile display on the market today.

Infrared Blaster

As we add more and more connected tech to our TV sets – think consoles, media streamers, set-top boxes and the like – the amount of remote controls we need to keep a track off keeps on growing. But, thanks to the infrared red blaster on the LG G4, you can ditch those remotes and use your phone instead.

To get this set-up, first head into the QRemote app on your LG G4. This is where the virtual remote control lives and when you start it for the first time it will give you simple instructions on setting everything up. Now, you can finally clean up your living room and use your phone for everything.

Colour Spectrum Sensor

There are plenty of awesome parts that combine to create the LG G4’s camera, with one of them being the colour spectrum sensor. This infrared sensitive spectrum sensor can analyse and then measure all the light in your shot, making sure everything appears as it should even before the picture is taken.

Laser Focusing

Situated next to the colour spectrum sensor on the rear of the LG G4, the laser focus module fires out an IR beam when you’re about to take a snap, focusing in accurately and quickly on your subject. This speeds up focussing, meaning you’re not waiting around for the camera to lock on to its target.

While we’re talking about camera features we love, it’s worth mentioning some of the gesture tech LG has included in the selfie shooter. Instead of reaching towards the buttons, you can take a shot by just raising your hand and then closing your fist. Three seconds later it will trigger and you’ll have the perfect selfie.
