Splatoon and Mario Party 10 release dates announced
Nintendo confirms the release dates for two new Wii U titles, Splatoon and Mario Party 10.
During today’s Nintendo Direct, Nintendo revealed Mario Party 10 would be available on March 20 2015.
Splatoon won’t be out until May on an unknown date, but at least we have a vague release date for the ink-splatting multiplayer Wii U title.
Mario Party 10 will be released the same date as the new Mario Series Amiibo, which will be compatible with the game.
In fact, they are so supported that a new Amiibo party mode is being built into Mario Party 10.
You’ll be able to not only use your Amiibo characters in game like a board game piece, but you’ll unlock a new board related to that character.
The examples used included a special Mario board where a special event causes a mushroom to be released that supersizes you and lets you squish the other characters. Then there’s the Luigi board where the special event means you can use the Poltergust to suck the coins and stars from the other players.

Nintendo also revealed some fresh information about Splatoon ahead of its May release.
When you load up the game, your personal Inkling will be walking around the Plaza, surrounded by Inklings from the Miiverse.
The large building in the middle of the plaza lets you battle against inklings from around the world.
But it was also revealed that the Plaza will be home to four shops, allowing you to customise your Inkling.
You will take the money you get from battles and spend it in the shops in the Plaza, including a hat shop, shoe shop, clothing shop and weapons shop.
Each player will then have the option to customise their Inkling and their weapons to reflect their personality and play style.
There are three different types of weapons, sold in 3-in-1 weapons sets: main weapons for attacking and painting the maps; secondary weapons for support; and of course special weapons.
The clothing on the other hand will affect your Inklings stats, including movement speed.
