Sony Xperia Z3 specs leaked by sticker shot

The Sony Xperia Z3 specs have been allegedly leaked by a photograph of a phone with a tell-all sticker on the back.

Ahead of the device’s IFA 2014 launch later this week, a shot of the Sony Xperia Z3 has given away all of its specs.

Although the authenticity of the photograph hasn’t been confirmed, it looks like the shot was taken at a training session with the device ahead of its official release.

The sticker reveals that the Xperia Z3 will feature a 5.2-inch 1080p full HD display powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor found in the existing Sony Xperia Z2, but with a higher clock speed of 2.5GHz. The Z3 still has 3GB of RAM.

As previous rumours suggested it, the Z3 will have a thinner profile than its predecessor,  slimming down from 8.2mm to a svelte 7.5mm. You’ll also see that it has a slightly smaller 3100mAh battery, but that shouldn’t be too detrimental to the battery life. In fact, the sticker says you’ll get 2 days out of the Z3.

It looks like it will retain the same Exmor RS 20.7-megapixel rear camera with a max ISO of 12800, and the same 2.2-megapixel front-facing camera. You’ll get also 16GB of internal storage as standard, plus microSD support.

What’s interesting is that, similar to the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact colours leak earlier today, Sony is adding “Copper” to the launch line-up for the Z3 along with the standard black and white.

As with previous Xperia handsets, the Z3 will have IP55/IP58 dust and water proof certification, NFC and 4G LTE compatibility.

The audio has also been given a tweak by the looks of it, as Sony’s advanced Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE HX) is listed as one of the features.

The Sony Xperia Z3 along with the Z3 Compact and the 8-inch Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact are expected to launch on September 3 at the Berlin-based IFA conference.
