Sony Xperia Z3 Compact could have full HD display
The Sony Xperia Z3 Compact could have a full HD display and come in a slightly redesigned body.
That’s according to some new information and accompanying images that have emerged on the Chinese social networking sites.
The handful of images show that the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact design will deviate from the OmniBalance style of the current Sony Xperia Z2 and co.
Instead it has much rounder edges and has a duo of front-facing speakers. You have to take into consideration that this model is seemingly protected by a silicon case, so don’t see that as an additional layer to the final release model.
The leaked images come with a set of allegedly accurate specs, but these differ from those previously predicted for the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact follow-on.
This report suggests it will come with a 4.6-inch display packing a 1080p x 920p full HD display, upping the current Z1 Compact’s 4.3-inch 720p HD display.
The Z3 Compact will supposedly be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and 3GB of RAM, despite previous rumours it will only offer 2GB of RAM.
Previous leaks clock that 801 processor at 2.5GHz, which would make it directly compete with that found in flagships like the HTC One M8 and Samsung Galaxy S5.
Sony’s next mid-range option should also retain the 20.7-megapixel rear camera featured in its latest high-end handsets.
It is also expected to run Andorid 4.4.2 KitKat, potentially with Android L installed soon after launch. Or so we hope.
Both the Z3 Compact and the flagship Sony Xperia Z3 are expected to arrive in September, following a potential IFA 2014 launch in Berlin.
