Sony Xperia Z1 pre-orders have kicked off following the phone’s formal unveiling at IFA 2013 recently, with a number of retailers confirming their plans to stock the 20-megapixel camera hosting smartphone.
Announced after months of leaks and rumours, the Sony Xperia Z1 sees a 5-inch, 1080p Full HD display line up alongside a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and Google’s Android OS. It features a 3000mAh battery alongside 4G connectivity and IP58 protection but its party piece is the 20.7-megapixel camera on the back.

EE
The first network to confirm its Sony Xperia Z1 pre-order plans, EE will be making use of the phone’s 4G capabilities to offer it on its high-speed service. What’s more it will be giving away a Sony Smartwatch 2 with all pre-orders.
No longer the only 4G network in the UK, EE has revealed it will sweeten the deal with a complimentary Smartwatch. The company has confirmed that any Z1 pre-orders placed directly through EE, Orange or T-Mobile will come with the free techy timepiece.
EE has revealed that its Sony Xperia Z1 pre-orders will allow wannabe owners to secure the phone on a range of 4G tariffs starting from just £41 per month. Having forked out an initial £29.99 on the handset, this deal will see unlimited UK calls and texts partnered with 2GB of 4G data.

Set to offer Sony Xperia Z1 pre-orders across a range of networks, Phones 4u has confirmed that it will offer the phone on tariffs ranging from £33 per month (with a £69 handset free) to £47 per month (with a free phone).
More importantly, the high street phone seller will offer anyone placing a Sony Xperia Z1 pre-order the choice of two bumper free gifts.
While like EE Phones 4u is letting Z1 owners snap up a free Sony Smartwatch 2, those not taken by the wrist wear can instead opt for £200 off the Sony Xperia tablet Z.
If all that wasn’t enough, those snapping up the handset on a 4G deal will be further rewarded, with a £120 wireless speaker being thrown into the mix.

Three
While Three’s Sony Xperia Z1 pre-orders might not come with a free Smartwatch 2, they aren’t going to leave you empty handed.
The network which will launch its own 4G services in December at no extra cost has confirmed that its Sony Xperia Z1 pre-orders will be partnered with a free Sony wireless headset worth £99.
Discussing its tariffs for the Z1, the network stated: “You will be able to pre-order the Sony Xperia Z1 from Three with an upfront cost of £99 with various 24 month contracts. The Ultimate Internet 500 plan costs £34 a month and offers 500 minutes, 5000 texts or the Ultimate Internet 1000 costs £36 a month and offers 1000 minutes and 5000 texts, both with All-You-Can-Eat data.
It added that those not wanting to be tied down to a two year deal will be able to secure the handset on a PAYG basis for a considerable £549.99.

Vodafone
Joining the party slightly late, Vodafone has announced its intentions to stock the Sony Xperia Z1 without yet getting too brash on confirming pricing details, tariffs or bundled freebies.
One of the first new phones that Vodafone will offer on its recently launch Vodafone Red 4G network, the company has confirmed that it will announce further stocking plans in the near future.
The network stated: “We’ll be bringing you much more on the Z1 soon, so stay tuned to Vodafone Social.”
