Sony Xperia T unveiled with 13MP camera

Sony has expanded its range of Android filled Xperia handsets with the Sony Xperia T officially unveiled during the company’s IFA 2012 press conference.

Lining up as the tech giant’s latest flagship handset, the Sony Xperia T is set to offer “Sony’s best HD experiences,” with the oversized smartphone playing host to an expansive 4.6-inch HD Reality Display screen with a 1280 x 720p resolution.

A true multimedia handset, and one which will be used by James Bond in the upcoming movie, Skyfall, the Sony Xperia T features a vast array of impressive specs, with a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor included alongside 1GB of RAM and Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. An Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update has been confirmed for after launch.

Set to be made available in three colour options, black, silver and white, the Sony Xperia T hosts a 13-megapixel rear-mounted camera with the unit’s 1080p Full HD video recording capabilities further bolstered by a single LED flash. A second, forward-facing camera is also included with 720p HD video recording possibilities.

With a 1,850mAh battery keeping the Sony Xperia T running, although the handset’s Android 4.0 OS is now a little behind the times, Sony has confirmed the device will support One-Touch NFC technologies. The handset is also set to feature 4G LTE connectivity options.

Taking design hints from the Sony Xperia S, although Sony has yet to detail an exact Sony Xperia T UK release date, the Japanese tech behemoth has confirmed the high-end handset will touch down on British soil in a matter of weeks. Pricing details have yet to be confirmed.
