Sony has expanded its line of Walkman branded MP3 players at CES 2013 with the Sony Walkman NWZ-W270 launching as a waterproof sports friendly all-in-one digital music player.
The latest head-mounted MP3 player to hit Sony’s Walkman line, the Sony Walkman NWZ-W270 boasts waterproof capabilities making the device safe and comfortable when coated in rain or sweat from your physical exurtions.
“For many people, music is a vital component to enable a vigorous workout,” Andrew Sivori, vice president of the Personal Audio Division at Sony Electronics said. “Now, everyone from casual fitness enthusiasts to hard-core triathletes can enjoy their favourite music while they train or compete. Whether on land or in the water, the new Walkman Sports MP3 Player is the perfect workout accessory.”

Thanks to its waterproof construction, the Sony Walkman NWZ-W270 can accompany you on any fitness session, including those in the pool, with the device’s intuitive controls meaning users can easily alter volume settings, skip tracks and pause music without having to break stride.
Boasting 4GB of inbuilt storage, the Sony Walkman NWZ-W270, which features inbuilt headphones for ease of use and an unobtrusive fit, allows users to simply drag-and-drop audio content to the device with an eight hour playback battery life ensuring your full fitness session is covered. What’s more, making sure you have music when you needed, even when the battery is totally flat, just a three minute charge is enough to provide a full hour of playback.
Sporting a new tension band to ensure a more supportive fit that does not loosen during high intensity exercise, the newly unveiled Sony Walkman NWZ-W270 builds on Sony’s longstanding audio abilities with a well-rounded soundstage bolstered by deep bass abilities.

Although a finalised Sony Walkman NWZ-W270 UK price tag has yet to be confirmed, the Sony Xperia Z manufacturer has revealed when wannabe owners will be able to get their mitts on the new audio providing waterproof fitness companion.
Set to be made available through a selection of retailers in the UK, including Argos and Currys Digital, the latest addition to the Walkman line will be available within a matter of weeks with a February 1 Sony Walkman NWZ-W270 release date set.
