Google Assistant is now rolling out to select Sony TVs in the UK
Google Assistant has just landed on a selection of Android TV-running Sony’s 4K HDR TVs in the UK.
From today, you can access Google’s virtual helper on Sony AF8, XF90, XF85, XF80 and XF75 series TVs − such as the Sony AF8 OLED and Sony XF85 − by barking instructions into your voice-operated remote.

“Users can make voice commands to watch a movie or their favourite TV series on Google Play and other popular services – simply by saying ‘play Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle on Google Play’ you can launch the app,” Sony explains.
You can also use Google Assistant to play music, get the lowdown on the weather, control any smart devices you have around your home, and answer any random questions you might have.
However, you might have to wait a couple of weeks for the update to arrive on your telly.
“Google Assistant will begin to roll out across a selection of Sony televisions in the UK today, with completion on all compatible models expected in June 2018,” says Sony.
