Sony announces PS Plus Double Discounts promo, but not everyone’s happy

Sony is offering PlayStation Plus members double discounts on a host of top games. From today until, July 25th, the gaming giant is offering decent savings on top titles like Far Cry 4, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, F1 2017 and Hitman: Game of the Year Edition.

There are over 100 games in the offing, including the Skyrim VR experience, God of War II: Remastered and Overwatch Legendary Edition. Rocket League Game of the Year Edition and Middle-earth Shadow of War are also down 25%.

You can head to the Double Discounts promotion page to see if any of the offers tickle your fancy, or you can also check out the PlayStation Blog for the full list of tiles and DLC available on the cheap.

If you’re not a PS Plus member and haven’t signed up before you can also take the service for a 14-day trial in order to access these discounts.

The sale will likely be welcomed by those who’re sheltering from the UK heatwave and aren’t really interested in the bounty of live televised sport offered by the World Cup and Wimbledon.

Not everyone’s happy though. Commenting on the official PlayStation Blog post Stonesthrow wrote: “Horrible sale. Besides a few selections, the same as always. And none of the prices are any better with the PS+ discount than in a regular sale. Good to see you wasting our PS+ profits on useless sales that pretty much amount to the same as a regular sale. Not that it matters to someone who doesn’t buy digital. God, I hate PS+ so much. By far the worst concept and service I have ever encountered, and I actually have to sub to it and support it.”

Further proof that, as the poet John Lydgate wrote: “You can You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time.”
