Sony Details JS-Series All-In-One Desktop

Adds the NS-series notebook, too.

With Sony’s (arguably) most attractive notebook (the Vaio TZ) having seen an update (to the Vaio TT) it seems only fair that its desktop systems should have a similar treatment. That certainly looks to be the case if the Vaio JS-series is anything to go by as it looks to be a pretty stylish upgrade of the LT-series. We were pretty fond of the LT, so hopefully the JS lives up to that legacy.

Aesthetically Sony looks to have done itself proud, as the JS definitely looks pretty. The front of the system is dominated by a 20in, 1,680 x 1,050 resolution screen, while a 2.53GHz Core 2 Duo E7200 CPU, 3GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive sit within. Graphics are handled by integrated Intel X4500HD which should be good enough for the average user – by which I mean Spore will run.

The tech specs aren’t, perhaps, that impressive, but the JS-series AIO PC is more of a lifestyle product than anything else so out and out performance isn’t a top priority. Sony does offer a decent software bundle to sweeten the deal, too, comprising Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 and Premiere Elements 4.

Alongside the JS-series desktop, Sony is also introducing the NS-series laptop. A 15.4in, 1,280 x 800 screen, Core 2 Duo T5800 CPU, 4GB of RAM and AMD ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3430 graphics aren’t particularly much to write home about. A Blu-ray drive marks the NS-series’ main (and debatably only) major selling point.

Pricing and release dates are a mystery thus far – as is par for the course with Sony.
