Sony Bravia X9 4K TV UK pricing and release date announced

Sony has announced that UK customers can pre-order the Sony Bravia X9 4K TV series from today, with shipping starting in mid-June.

The 55- and 66-inch 4K televisions will be available in UK stores like John Lewis and Currys as well as Sony Centres from mid-June but can be pre-ordered from the Sony website from today.

In the UK the Sony Bravia X9 55-inch version is priced at £4,000, while the 66-inch edition can be purchased for £6,000. Certainly not for the budget-conscious, but the 4K resolution is certainly worth the price tags.

Sony Bravia X9 4K TV Features
The Sony Bravia X9 4K LED Ultra HD TV provides realistic images in resolutions four times more detailed than 1080p HD. It is also capable of upscaling any of the user’s current content to 4K resolutions, including Blu-ray movies, TV shows, web videos or smartphone clips that aren’t even filmed in hi-res.

The quality of the content displayed on the Sony Bravia X9 is aided by the 4K X-Reality PRO engine.

Inbuilt with Sony’s unique Triluminous display, the contrast and range of colours available is greatly increased to provide true to life images, especially when combined with 4K resolutions.
Magnetic Fluid Speaker technology complements the Ultra HD resolutions with crisp and clear audio, while the “Sense of Quartz” styling still makes the TV set a feature of the room when not in use.

Compatible with NFC smartphones and tablets like the Sony Xperia Z, the Sony Bravia X9 allows users to mirror view any content on their device, including apps, videos and photos on the 55- or 66-inch screen.

Users can also use the Android and iOS Sony TV SideView app to browse the TV guide, record programmes and utilise other TV features from their tablets and smartphones.
