Some Xbox One Fitness features will be free in 2015, Microsoft has confirmed.
Microsoft has revealed that certain features of the Xbox One Fitness service will remain free after December 2014.
Currently, the Xbox Fitness FAQ states that the “Xbox Fitness Pass gives you unlimited access to the world’s best workouts for free with your Xbox Live Gold membership through December 2014, only on Xbox One.”
However, according to a statement provided to Windows Central, some changes will come in January, but a lot of the features will still be free.
Perhaps, it’s Microsoft’s way of helping you burn off all those Christmas calories.
“While some of the content available will change in January, Xbox Fitness will continue to offer free and unlimited access to a wide fitness video catalogue with your Xbox Live Gold membership, as well as the option to purchase additional full programs with Gold and Silver memberships.”
It’s not quite clear at the moment which content will continue to be offered for free in January, but hopefully Microsoft will provide some clarification closer to the time.
Microsoft first announced Xbox Fitness back in September 2013, and said that Xbox Live Gold members would receive free access to the service and its programmes until the end of this year.
But that has obviously now changes and if you’ve got an Xbox Live Gold membership and a Kinect motion gaming peripheral, you’ll still be able to use some of the content in the new year.
